Hi-Line Platform Combat Boot (Women)

Very cute but uncomfortable to wear. I loved the look of these but they are really uncomfortable to wear for more than 30 minutes at a time. I thought it was just the breaking in process but they continue to hurt my feet even though I've had these now for over a month, and I even purchased it a full size bigger than my normal shoe size. I wish I could return these but I removed the tags. I would not recommend.

I never take time to write a review but these boots have earned it with all the compliments they’ve received. And because I have complicated feet that are so happy wearing these. I’m 44 with high arches and baby bunions from years of ballet and pointe shoes (and years of 4 inch heels). I am a 6.5W-7W. 7W if we go by the foot measurements at Fleet Feet for my Hoka marathon trainers. Wide toe box, narrow heel - until recently it’s been a nightmare finding boots that don’t squeeze my toes until they fall asleep. I bought these on a whim before Thanksgiving. Wore them for a whole day at home in case they felt worse by the end of the day (when feet are more swollen). Instead! I have been wearing them to work every day for the last two weeks because they are so comfortable and my feet are so happy. I love how supported my ankles feel, especially now that we’re in the winter weather slipping and sliding season. The bottoms are covered in rubber, but much lighter than my Docs. The laces are long enough to wrap around my ankles before tying. The leather is waterproof and sturdy but soft enough that I didn’t worry about breaking them in. They are not lined, but even with my grumpy toes, I’m still able to wear wool socks without the toes getting too cramped. I also frequently wear these with tights or pantyhose, without socks - without issue. Even with the waterproof leather, I still spray a waterproof coating on them. Kiwi makes some good options. I’m also careful to rinse them off after slogging through Northeast Ohio snow, sleet and salt. Salt is quite unkind to all leather - always clean and waterproof. I’ve been stopped by so many women (and men) complimenting these boots that I just bought a backup pair in case Sorel discontinues this style. They’re the perfect boot for when I travel overseas and often navigate different terrain and different climates on the same trip. If you’re on the fence, my suggestion is to give them a try! If your feet lean on the wider side, I suggest getting your true size to ensure your toes have a little room. If they are narrower, perhaps consider half a size down?
