The stiff sole and soft foam combine to create the perfect training shoe for my middle schooler as he recovers from Plantar's fasciitis. The shoe has also been a great choice to my son who is dealing with Sever’s disease. Best of all my middle school aged kids like wearing them!

disappointed
I always get 840s x wide but was very disappointed with this pair they ran way tighter than my other pair and the shoelaces are so short you can barely tie them. they are very uncomfortable even walking .I wonder if Joes is selling seconds. I will be ordering straight from New Balance from now on. I would have sent them back but I ordered them on sale and waited 2 months to use them.

New springy rabbit sited in Paradise Valley
Excellent bounce when walking especially for someone who has two bad knees. Not exactly sure what fresh foam is but I like it. Bought my first pair of New Balance shoes from a magazine ad in 1976. They have only improved since then! They look really good too.
