680 Running Shoe - Multiple Widths Available (Men)

They're close, but not quite perfect for me (I'm keeping them). They look good, are generally comfortable, and seem to be well made out of quality materials. They're probably great for runners, which I'm not. I go on brisk mostly-paved walks with friends in regional parks and work out at the gym The thick soles are just a bit too soft and "marshmallowy" for me. They cushion hard pavement, but my feet sometimes feel a slight bit wobbly when I'm not walking straight on a smooth surface. They also feel overly cushioned for doing something like squats in the gym. I like them for casual suburban wear.

I was never much of a runner until recently. I had been using an old pair of Asics and another pair of Reeboks, both of which had shown their age and I struggled going over a mile because I would get really bad shin splints. I finally scored a pair of these after seeing it was out of stock for awhile. I'd heard much about them and how they were good for novice runners looking for daily exercise. They do run a bit small (I'm a 9 w/ Asics and these were slightly snug) but I didn't feel like returning them, so I gave it a shot. I took them on their first run this morning on the treadmill. It was like running on a smooth mattress. The comfort was absolutely amazing. I was able to take good strides, I pronated a little bit, but the impact was minimal on my notoriously sensitive shins. It felt wonderful. Once I got into a groove, I was able to do 2 miles without stopping for the first time in almost 20 years. I couldn't believe the way they made my feet feel. They are incredibly comfortable and definitely worthy of the hype they've received. Shoes like this for that price? Yes, please.
