Tie Waist Poplin Midi Shirtdress

I tried the ivory/black stripe version of this dress. It overall was a flattering cut but for me the waist for very high and the bust tight, making it unflattering at the midriff. For the striped fabric version, it was too busy with so many details and stripes going on: with the chest pocket in opposite horizontal stripe direction (it was slightly sheer so you see the vertical stripes thru it) and the epaulets on the shoulders and the waist tie it was busy. There is an interesting double skirt in the front, but seemed hard to see unless you are seated. I wanted to like it but in the end returned.

Like this dress . It runs a little short wasted. The only way to fix that is to purchase a size larger, then cinch it in at the waist with the belt. Sizing up is probable a good idea because this dress does not have breast darts and if you have any, it may fit a little tight across. I did not like the breast pocket so I carefully removed it. I also did not like that the fullness of the pleats did not come further to the center front. I DID, however , like the dress enough to Keep it.
