Short Sleeve Crepe Midi Dress

I have a miserable time finding dresses. I bought this one simply because it was so flattering for my figure and hits just below the knee, a tough length to find these days. The thicker fabric helps hide a less-than-perfect figure and the slight stretch keeps the slim fit comfortable. I decided to keep it without having any specific event on the horizon, figuring it would work for cocktail parties and weddings. Shortly thereafter we were invited to a semi-formal dinner and I was so happy to not be frantically looking for something to wear!

I paired this dress with a nude shoe and gold accessories and received many compliments. This green is absolutely stunning! The dress is lined which is amazing and is the perfect fabric with just the right amount of stretch. True to size. If you have a little tummy that a body shaper can’t control, I suggest a size up for comfort.

This is a decent LBD. It is priced well, it fits well, and I was pleased to see that it’s lined. I usually prefer navy or gray for dark neutrals, but the black looks good. Here’s what’s keeping it from five stars (and if I could have, I might have given it 3.5): I wish it had a slightly higher or jewel neckline, sleeves a bit less full (easier to add a sweater or shrug), and POCKETS. All women’s dresses and skirts should have pockets. But given how difficult it is for women over 50 to find simple, comfortable, elegant, lined dresses, here are four stars for a dress that is almost perfect.
