perfect travel bag
I rush ordered this bag right before my vacation. Not only was it the perfect size but it’s also really cute and durable! I carried this thing all over France and it barely looks used. It’s definitely going in my regular bag rotation back at home.

Fake description! Piece of crap.
I hunted a long time to find this bag, which seemed like the right size and that lovely little side pocket and not a lot of pocket inside. The side pocket doesn’t exist. There is no zipper on the outside. Unfortunately, there is stitching from the inside pocket showing up on the outside of the bag, which looks hideous. I’ve never been so disappointment pointed Nordstrom product. Returning it doesn’t seem quite enough compensation.

Madewell isn’t made well
This bag seems kinda flimsy. I’ve owned other Madewell bags before and this one just doesn't look like it’ll hold up well for daily use. I decided to return it.

Pleased with the quality!
This is a great sling style crossbody bag, its silhouette is basically similar to any other half-moon crossbody style that you've probably seen everywhere else (Uniqlo nylon bag anyone?). It is very spacious, with one large compartment in the center. There is also a small compartment on the side of the bag, perfect for small items like lip balm, eye drops, and a credit card or two. However, this small side pocket will not fit your phone. The leather is pleasantly soft, smooth, and quite pliable. Be aware, any scratches or scuffs on the leather will be visible - personally it's a non-issue for me, the marks on the bag add to its character. The chocolate raisin is a lovely dark brown, with somewhat of purplish undertones to it.
