Well Made but Lightweight with Thin Collar
Pros:
Coat is well made: nice stitching and fabric. Nice faux shearling (don't know how it will wear).
Length falls to mid calf on my 5'1" body which I need in New England winters.
I like the color.
Buttons are decent quality for standard issue. ( I often change cheap looking buttons, which can ruin the look of anything. I'd keep these)
It's very lightweight (which can be good!) - but I will have to take it out for a walk to see how much warmth it provides. I suspect I'll need a heavy sweater or multiple layers underneath to brave the cold.
Cons:
Both sets of buttons are high on the coat leaving lower half able to be blown open by wind.
The collar - esp in the back - is VERY thin. So thin that it won't stand up on its own - you'd need a heavy scarf to keep your neck warm or make the collar stand up.
IF I keep this I will have to have the collar at least partially lined with a heavier material to keep my neck warm or buy a scarf to wear with it always. (Question to Brand/Maker: Why go cheap when it was so close? It's a WINTER coat!
I just received this and tried it on. I am undecided on keeping it or not - mostly due to the collar's thinness.
