The Geli Chelsea Boot (Women)

Loved the style - times 3 - of these great boots! If not for their few but significant flaws, my boot shopping would have been finished with the Geli. First, the height of the shaft was great, especially for a long-legged person. This hybrid Chelsea with comfortable heel and platform was amply high to cover the ankle, which I loved and wanted. (Yay!) I loved the design overall: The lug sole with an actual tread is very practical for my needs, and the rubber edging is, too. Plus it provides a great look, borderline rugged meets refined. Loved the crinkle patent, too, that wipes clean. The last of the boot with the squared-off rubber halfway up the toe box gives the illusion of a smaller foot and the attractive, squared-off front provides some room up front. In a smaller size, these attributes probably come together well for the wearer. Sadly, the boot looked hugely oversized on me and in my size everything I loved about the boot was too exaggerated, especially the appearance of the profile against my slender legs. The boot was not cut close enough to my legs, even while wearing leggings, to provide the streamlined profile I was looking for. As they also ran wide and large overall, the other drawbacks of the boot made sizing-down a non-option for me. I was disappointed, as I was only able to get these boots after they were replenished once. They ran out once, not surprisingly. It was sad to not have them end up being everything I had hoped for. I do think Katy Perry is onto something with her unique designs that will allow people to add some flair to their look. I can’t wait to see what she decides to put out there next!
