Stitching defect
They were okay until I walked a few thousand steps in them. Something pressed on my right toe and I had to keep walking so was left with pain for a few days.
Unfortunately, 50 days passed before I thought to check inside the shoe (assumed it was just my foot problem)/ I discovered a plastic stitch poking out. The left shoe doesn't have that. I missed the return window by one day.
The lesson for me is to check shoes thoroughly within fifty days. Not the 50th day.
