Avalon Chukka Derby (Men)

I bought these for myself! I'm female, wear 9.5 normally in womens, bought an 8 in mens and fit is good, not sloppy or loose. I also wear barefoot shoes a part of the time so I like a wider toe box when possible and these fit that requirement. They are super duper comfortable, and great soles for rainy and icy winter walking. My only issue was that the sides came up high enough to bump into my ankle bones (not sure if this is because they are men's shoes or just my ankle bones as I occasionally have this issue in other womens shoes too). I bought some little leather heel lifts that slip in the shoe end elevate my ankle bones enough to not rub. I also like that they flex a little with walking, which is nice given the thickness of the sole, but the leather doesn't overly crease on top of the foot creating pressure.
