Seam ripped after 20 miles
After about 20 miles of hiking the stitching on one side ripped at the seam leaving a 1.5 inch hole. I was surprised the stitching failed after only a few uses. I contacted the warranty department and provided my receipt showing that I've only had the shoes for a month. They said it's normal wear and tear and would not fix or replace them.

Don't waste your money
About 50 miles use on these Altra trailrunners and the uppers are ratty while the tread looks new. Super disappointing in the low quality of the upper materials. They look trashed and I'll need to patch the hole since they are not returnable but still usable on the trail. I only wear merino wool socks so there is no excuse for the excessive ankle wear.
In contrast, my Altra Timp 4's looked great until I had worn the tread down to nothing after 2 million steps (about 1000k miles).

cute but
Cute but the shoe is flat on top. My nails grow upwards even when I cut my nails very short. I could feel the top of the shoe pressing on my nails which meant that eventually they were gonna hurt so I’ll be returning them.

This is my second pair of Altra's. I can be on my feet all day in these and my feet are fine. Tried all the popular brands and these beat them hands down.

Squeaky!!!
I don't leave many reviews on products, especially shoes because they are a very subjective item, however I'm very disappointed in these shoes. I got a pair of the original Outroads in December of last year and then recently a pair of the Outroad 2. BOTH of them start squeaking within the sole of the shoe after 4-5 hours of wear. When I contacted customer support they gave me the usual "try powder or Vaseline between the insert and the shoe and that should help," but the issue is within the foam of the shoes. Manufacturing flaw? The fit of the shoe is super comfortable and perfect for me, which is why I decided to try a second pair, but within the first day of wear the new pair started squeaking, so now they are returned. I have been wearing Altras for several years, but am now very reluctant to buy again. So sad.
