Siren 4 Mid Gore-Tex^® Waterproof Hiking Boot (Women)

Bought these for the Annapurna Circuit Trek in Nepal. It got tears/holes after a 11-mile hike on day 1!!! Also, the wire around ankle cushion was so uncomfortable and kept digging into my right ankle. At the end of my 7 day trekking trip, they were so beaten up and damaged I ended up just throwing them away.

This the shoe I wear every day to walk the dog. It keeps my feet dry and it is very comfortable. Unfortunately, it is not durable and the shoe lace is too long. I once fell hard from the shoe lace getting getting caught by the hook on the other foot. This might be a good shoe for occasional hiking.

I loved these boots initially. The fit is comfortable, and the high top ankle support is soft and very comfortable. Colors are great. I took them to Iceland and by 3 days of light hiking use, noticed the gore-tex outer coating crackling at the stitched edges. That would be my one major complaint, as the waterproofing is now immediately compromised and gore-tex is always an added cost.

Comfortable from the first wear. Warm and waterproof but not too hot. I love that Merrells consistently have a slightly wider toe box without a wide heel. If you're feet are slightly duck-foot shaped (like mine) cannot recommend highly enough! Consistently a good fit, durable, and comfortable.
