Quality of shoe surprised me, being AE. Shoes feel fragile, light and weak. The heel base is loud perhaps cardboard or wood, not leather stacked. I am returning them as I was dissapointed in the quality of the shoe considered the name and price.

Shoe leather feels nice and looks really nice on foot, but its hard to put on, and stiff. The model i got said made in India and not in Port Washington, Wisconsin, which is strange to me. I wore them for an event and my feet ended up hurting quite a bit. Let see if it loosens with time and use. For the price IDK....

Somewhat hard to get on, OK fit once on foot
Initial getting onto feet took a shoehorn and encouragement. Undoing the laces and giving them a more practical arrangement helped. Once on, a bit tight by Allen Edmonds standards, but I expect it to stretch out a bit, much as the too-smooth leather bottom should become less slippery as it gets roughed up by use. Seems up to usual Edmonds quality of construction, but made in India. The tag saying so promptly disappeared. The "navy" color is very, very close to black, much as a "mahogany" also was.
